Administration and Department
Administrative measure
This department has signed one director who is responsible for promoting administrative business in our department, monitoring the running of the department and student union and contacting the alumni association. Another member in the department is assigned to assist in the handling of administrative work.
Regarding the promotion of the departmental affairs plan, our department convenes departmental affairs meetings on a regular basis and at required times to discuss important matters in the department. Following the principles of openness and fairness, as required by the curriculum plan, the employment of new teachers will be approved first by the teacher evaluation committee meeting, then re-approved by the teacher evaluation committee meeting in the hospitality and tourism college and finally is submitted to a teacher evaluation committee meeting of the university for approval. Then, the employment will take effect.
The promotion and continuing education of teachers will be initially approved by a teacher evaluation committee meeting, then re-approved by teacher an evaluation committee meeting in the hospitality and tourism college and finally submitted to the teacher evaluation committee meeting of the university for approval.
Departmental Affair
Besides arranging departmental affairs meetings, teaching symposiums and instructor meetings to make the operation of departmental affairs systematic and reasonable, we have also adopted the other administrative measures below:
1. To encourage students to join and visit off-campus learning activities, to hire experts and scholars from the academic, industrial and government fields to make topical lectures in our hospitality and tourism department.
2. To achieve the educational theory that “off-campus internships extend on-campus learning”, the teachers in our department will pay regular visits to the internship sites of students and keep close contact with the hotel industry.
3. Actively plan employment and instruction for students.
4. Arrange an instruction schedule and weekly meeting schedule each week.
5. Cooperate with the labor education system established by the university and implement attitudes for a clean campus environment.
6. Give instructions to the student union and activity associations to allow students to learn organizational and administration abilities from the activities.
Besides what’s mentioned above, this department takes the initiative to promote a “three-in-one” strategy, including keeping a close relation and interaction with the industry, providing sufficient opportunities for off-campus internships for students and allowing them to absorb practical experience, so that they could be employed successfully after graduation.
